Gary and Doris Jurkiewicz were born and raised in Southeast Michigan.  They acquired The Oakwood Inn on September 1, 2001.

Gary is a Registered Pharmacist in North Carolina and Michigan.  He is working full-time as a Clinical Pharmacist for a North Carolina Company.  He worked as a Project Manager for a large hospital corporation before moving to North Carolina.

Doris worked as a bookkeeper and human resource director before moving to North Carolina to pursue her dream to become an Innkeeper.

The couple has five daughters and one granddaughter.  The oldest daughter, Dianna, moved to Raleigh from Virginia Beach.  Dianna  is an Office Manager and forms developer and her daughter Morgan is attending Elementary School in Cary.  Erin graduated from Wayne State University and the Police Academy and is a deputy sheriff for Oakland County in southeast Michigan. Erin had a fabulous October wedding last year.  Donna graduated from Ferris State University and is now a 3rd Grade Teacher at an Elementary School in Raleigh.  Donna is attending ECU in the fall to pursue her masters degree .  Diana J has earned a master's degree from Walsh College.  She is now working at the Tank and Automotive Command as an Administrative Assistant.  Debbie has graduated from North Carolina State University and has relocated to Boston.

This adorable little guy is le Chouffe!  (his full name is le Chouffe the dog formerly known as Prince or Shoo-fee)  He came to live at the Oakwood Inn mid-march 2009.  He and his brother took a great trip from Florida to call Raleigh their new home!  Chouffe gets to play with his brother often.
In August of 2007, Chimay a beautiful Standard Poodle found a new home at the Oakwood Inn and loves to greet the guests when they arrive to check-in!

And for everyone curious about the Master in charge of Guest Relations ~ Scooter ~ has moved in with Donna enjoying a dog-free life style and a very cat friendly neighborhood.  At 14 Scooter was not happy about being licked constantly by an over-adoring puppy!
